PVD Volume Tour Hits USA-Returns to Central Park NYC
Artists: Paul Van Dyk will celebrate the release of his "Best Of" anthology-Volume- with a USA tour, including a return to grand performance at New York's Central Park. PVD has also announced the release of new remixes of "For an Angel" and the composition of the theme for a Nintendo Wii game.
Paul Van Dyk will compose the theme music to EA Sports ‘Grand Slam® Tennis’ game for Nintendo Wii;set for release June 15. This coincides with his ‘best of’ anthology ‘Volume’ on Ultra Records due out exclusively on Itunes May 26 and everywhere jJune 9 along with the custom PVD Iphone & Ipod app out May 26. For the last six years, legendary electronic music craftsman PAUL VAN DYK (PvD) has performed a massive outdoor concert in New York City: five in Central Park (2003-2007) and last year at Pier 54. On August 26, he’ll return to Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield for another installment of his unforgettable summer in the city parties presented by Live Nation in support of his upcoming album The Best Of Paul van Dyk: VOLUME. Meanwhile, PvD fans can experience brand new compositions as featured in the new Electronic Arts Sports game Grand Slam® Tennis for Nintendo Wii. Due in stores June 15—following the release of PvD’s custom iPhone & iPod app on May 26 and VOLUME (Ultra Records) on June 9—the game puts the racket in the palm of your hand and offers the deepest tennis experience ever for the Wii; it gives gamers a chance to play at Wimbledon's famed Centre Court with an added level of authenticity enhanced by PAUL VAN DYK’s custom score. PvD is no stranger to the musical world of Electronic Arts games: last year he remixed “Still Alive,” the theme song to Mirror’s Edge.
PvD, a Grammy-nominated artist and internationally acclaimed electronic music performer and producer, has dominated electronic music since the early 1990’s and celebrates his musical achievements with the release of VOLUME, an album encompassing many wonderful selections from his massive, 15-year catalogue. One highlight on VOLUME is the 2009 remake of PvD’s classic anthem “For An Angel,” which hit #1 last week on the U.K. Buzz charts.
In conjunction with the May 26 digital release of VOLUME, Ultra Records will release on the same day the For An Angel remix EP with new mixes from VAN DYK himself, Spencer & Hill, Inpetto and Filo & Peri.
