Arnej
You play probably the deepest music on our stage that night. What kind of set can we expect from you?
You can probably expect to hear from me the kinds of records that got me to this point to start off with, a lot of anthemic tracks with deep and emotional breakdowns, coupled with hard beats. To me Trance Energy was always what I envisioned the perfect event for the DJ to connect with the clubbers attending on a more than musical level. People can expect to her some familiar tracks, and a lot of new ones. If you liked where I've been heading musically then you will definitely NOT be disappointed!

Any special tracks/remixes that you will drop that night?
I plan on opening with my follow up to "Dust In The Wind". I gave it a special intro mix (as usual) that will set the bar real high or at least I hope it does! I've been holding onto the track for quite a while, and besides being featured on Armin's A State Of Trance 2010 compilation, not a living soul has heard it. I am really excited to hear the reaction from the fans!

Whats your definition of trancemusic?
I would classify trance music as "modern classical", but with a dancability factor to it. I've always enjoyed the journey through melody that trance moreso captured than any other genre, to me at least. This is probably the reason why most of my records have some sort of a theme that a person can relate to in one way or another. This type of music has always "spoken" to me and I do my best to try spread that message.

Do you remember your first trancerecord that you heard? What was the track in the electronic music genre that made you feel "yes this is the music I love?
It would have to be in early 1994, when I heard a song by an artist called "Purple Motion", back in the MOD days, before there were any known sequencer hosts, or also known as the "tracker" days. This was before the famed internet and mp3 days. Living in Canada, we didn't exactly have a lot of exposure to electronica here. Shortly after that I was introduced to the infamous "Man With No Name" and that kept me interested for a good while, till eventually I stumbled across trance before it grew into this monster that it is now.

Are you on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook ect? Do you think they add value in your contact with the fans?
I am on all the important social networking sites and I try update them as much as humanly possible, but it can get quite overwhelming! I think sites like the ones you've mentioned have become a very important aspect of promotion and being in personal touch with your fan base. These days you can directly contact almost any artist you wish, but whether they respond is another story wink It's good to let the fans know that they are important and that they matter, after all, where would we all be without the fans?

Daniel Kandi
You are from Denmark, what inspired you to start producing trancemusic?
Alot of people. ATB, A&B, Airbase, Wazari... the last two mentioned have been reason guru's for life. Now Airbase has moved on to Ableton though.

You have gained quite alot of fame and released alot of tracks on the big labels. What can people expect from you as a DJ?
They can expect a tight and probably fun set. I move around alot, and have a good time. No stoneface from me ! And since im playing at the t.nu powered stage, I might drop a couple of forgotten classics, that was always rated high on your site. Airbase maybe, *hint hint*

Haha, wow now that sounds interesting. So we can expect some classics.. maybey any other special secrets we might expect that night? New remixes or tracks?
A new remix or 2. I would actually like to leave out as many of the kandi classic bootlegs etc. So mostly new stuff and 1-2 classics. An original or 2 also! Actually if u could start a vote for which of my mashups are most wanted, that would be awesome. I hope some of the actual partygoers could see it, so they would be able to answer which they want the most!

That's an interesting idea. Will put this on the site so maybey people can respond in the forums.. Another question: have you ever been at Trance Energy? How do you feel that you are gonna play there?
Well basically its what every dj dreams about. So this is definately something to look forward to. This is my first party ever, so im kinda the trance energy virgin haha!

Hahaha, well i'm sure you gonna like it . Last question: if fans come to me before or after the set I will....

Ahh well... Would be talkative 99% of the time... I remember that one on t.nu expressed his feelings about me being a cunt and not wanting to talk. I would like to know who it was lol. Cuz its far from the truth. people that saw me at DS know that. I hang around if im energized. I selden go back to the hotel early !

Haha oh well I never read that forumpost! Anyway, we are really excited that you will play at our stage!

Come and say hello, and so can everyone else! Will try and do myself justice!

W&W
How do you feel about playing at the Future Stage?
We feel very honoured to be part of the biggest trance event in the world, especially since we've been voted by the audience.
We are very happy with that, felt a bit like all the hard work
of the last couple of years is starting to pay off!!

What kind of set can we expect? Any exclusives, any specials?
Oh yes! We started to work on our set for like 2 months ago, gathering
a lot of exclusive tracks and make some new tunes and remixes ourself.
We also made a remix of this years anthem AND of an older
anthem which you won't expect at all!

What's the best liveperformance of a DJ or dance artists that you've
seen?

Hmm that must be Armin van Buuren his set at Trance Energy 2006,
that was one of the most banging sets we've heard live so far!

Is it difficult to build up a set as a duo? Before the set do you
guys talk about what you're gonna play?

Yeah we always skim through our cd-map in the airplane or on our way to a gig. It isn't that hard to build up a set, since you have more time to skim through the records while dj'ing with the two of you...

Name each other's best points as a musician/DJ (e.g: good with
melodies, good in mastering, original ideas... etc etc)

Wardt: ''Willem has a great feeling for music, he really knows how to build up the energy in a dj set! Also in our tunes he already has the ideas for the arrangement of the whole track when we only have a kick and a loop for example!!''
Willem: ''As I always say, Wardt has HiFi-ears! He is great in mixing and EQ'ing sounds!
Hes also a good pianoplayer, when we need a melody I always just put him behind the midi keyboard
and tell him to play something haha! Theres always coming out something usefull in that process!''
