DJ Scot Project - R (Rock)
German hard trance master DJ Scot Project is now back on the market with his first release under his own name in two years. Fans of his previous releases won't be disappointed.
A1. R (Rock)
Just what you could expect from DJ Scot Project, this track brings us few surprises, instead, the focus rests on the usual elements that makes DJ Scot Project the man he is today, even though it have been at least some fresh thinking done here by bringing in a rock'n'roll styled piano in the build ups. The lead in this track is nothing too inspiring or innovative, it's just your usual hands-in-the-air type of stuff, that's been done many times before, with better results I might add. Still this track will make floors shake all around the world, that's for sure!
B1. S (Outerspace)
Reminds very much of the A-side in style and structure, it's just that you won't find any piano-lines in this one, no mad screaming, and a better melody. Still, this track isn't as good as R, the biggest problem being the fact that the whole thing actually feels like a long build up for something that never really comes - OK, there's a breakdown in the good ol' Scot Project -style, but after the break, the track loses tempo, and when the whole thing is over, you realize that this track didn't really affect you at all.
In short, this vinyl is nothing special and brings out few new ideas, however, it's just what you could have expected from DJ Scot Project, and if you liked his old productions, you can be damn sure that you will find yourself humming the theme to R in no time after you've heard it for the first time. The only questions is if you find this tune good enough to buy the vinyl, and by judging on how good this thing is doing in the charts at the moment, and by how many big name DJ's that has it in their playlist - you will!
