Lange featuring Sarah Howells - Let It All Out

Lange has been going from strength to strength lately with all of the remix work and singles he has been putting out there. Recently he has remixed Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond's Oceanlab and collaborated with Andy Moor. Having been in the scene for well over a decade, he has redeveloped his style to adapt with the times while managing to stay versatile. In this instance, Lange demonstrates his more traditional sound with "Let It All Out," the latest single on his own imprint Lange Recordings, featuring vocalist Sarah Howells, who most of us remember from last year's "Out Of The Sky."

Original

Chunky yet clean percs and buzzy bass synths hold down the intro until the playful vox of Sarah Howells drop in. A few more cool synths appear before the breakdown gets ushered in. The break features some subtle guitar licks and layers of dry yet lush pads. A blistering bassline becomes the main focus during the chorus before receiving support from various other synths and Sarah's lovely voice. Without much warning, the track soon begins to fade to an end. A quality track from Lange, equal to the caliber of last year's outing with Sarah, "Out of the Sky."

Ronski Speed Remix

Ronski turns in a thick and pumping remix that reminds you of the original but it has its own unique sound. Solid percussion is topped off by a blurry atmosphere of buzzy synths and a lush synth pad throughout most of the intro. Sarah's voice pushes the synths to the background for a moment during the first verse and reappears during the breakdown, just as in the original. The original guitar riffs are back again, backed by powerful pads, which filter up and dominate the chorus. Sarah's voice resurfaces during one last break before the track winds down. A good effort from Ronski, which focuses a bit more on melody than the other mixes.

Genix Re-Rub

Genix steps in to add in even more attitude with his quirky house remix. Featuring playful percs and some guitar during the intro, two phat basslines soon drops in to view and are shortly joined by Sarah's vocals. The guitar returns again as the track fades into the break and Sarah belts out the refrain. Pads fade as the buildup approaches and with rising FX, the chorus kicks in, featuring the bassline once again. A cool remix but I don't think it adds any real variety to the package.

Conclusion

Another hit for Lange, although the remixes don't add much variety. If you're into techy, bassline-driven tracks with some cool vocals, this is for you. 4/5
